OF TOMORROW...TODAY
The Future of the African Daughter project (FOTAD) is a girl-child development project that changes the life of the ordinary girl from the township and rural areas, the African adolescent girl and young woman by providing practical and meaningful assistance, guidance and skills. FOTAD equips them with knowledge and invaluable skills, achieved through the holistic development approach
"In Africa, poverty has a female face”
FOTAD works with girls in the poorest communities, townships and rural areas, of South Africa, hence the majority come from homes characterised by illiteracy and unemployment.
FOTAD is thus a tool to poverty alleviation, premised on the belief that Girl children, tomorrow's women, are the key to effectively reducing poverty in communities, countries and ultimately the African continent. It was borne out of the need for the African girl child to be in a safe and constructive environment, away from the streets, where she receives guidance, support and motivation in order to prepare her for a successful future. Thus all programmes and projects are driven by the need to alleviate poverty, and create new development cycles among African girls.
